A few years ago I wrote this journal entry after helping my husband, Wayne, as he was installing a new door bell on the front of the house. The new doorbell came complete with the mounting bracket – which had a slot for a tiny little level (also included!), screws and anchors, and a tiny screw driver that was adjustable to fit the two different screws required to mount the doorbell. This was awesome!! The company had included everything necessary for successful installation of their product! It was very rewarding to step back and view the finished project, and especially gratifying that by using the specific tools provided, the project was easy! The provided tools took away the the stress and frustration of searching for just the right size tools to complete the project.
And so it is with life!! Our Creator God has provided just the right tool necessary to accomplish success in our Christian life! The Word of God IS the tool of life! It’s pages offer guidance, direction, instruction, and the path to eternal life. As we study and learn history (His Story) we find forgiveness, health and healing, comfort, hope, joy, peace, and unconditional love! This tool teaches patience, mercy, and grace. Grace upon grace!!
When we live out the life God granted to us with faith and believing, using the tool of His Holy Word, we leave our stress and frustration at His feet. And as we see the project of our life to completion and we stand before the God who gave us life may we be blessed to hear Him say, “Well done thou good and faithful servant”!
Thank You, Lord, for Your Holy Word! Help me to study it, obey it, cherish it, and hide it in my heart as a tool to help me live it in my daily life! Amen
