So often interruptions are annoying and well, just plain rude!
But this morning my time with the Lord was interrupted in a beautiful way! What we typically refer to as ‘quiet time’ with the Lord isn’t always quiet! I spend my time reading God’s Word and often reading a commentary or exposition of the passage. I ask God to open my heart to what He wants me to learn and how I should act upon what He is teaching me.

I continue my time of worship by listening to favorite songs of praise. I usually listen to the same songs beginning with “Give Me Jesus” by Fernando Ortega. This morning as “Jesus Is Mine” by Jordan Kauflin & Matt Merker began to play, my worship was interrupted! I had the slider door to our deck open and a little bird interrupted as I was focusing my heart on God… a beautiful song of praise chirped along with the song “Jesus is Mine”! This colorful little creature joined me in worship declaring that Jesus is truly mine! When he finished singing he snacked on the sunflower’s seeds before flying away!
This perfect interruption was actually a wonderful addition to my worship time, such a beautiful reminder of Psalms 150:6!
Let everything that hath breath praise the Lord.
Praise ye the Lord.
Psalm 150:6
This was hand written in my paper journal early in June of 2018. I thought this journal entry would be a good one to make digital on the blog. During this time of Sheltering in Place… aka Time-Out, it has been a great reminder to me that everything that hath breath should praise the Lord! I still listen to music as part of my personal worship time, and “Jesus Is Mine” is especially meaningful today. I have added the link if you would like to hear it. God bless you as you listen to the words! I’m so thankful that as we face these “days of fragile peace… He sustains our hope”!
